The BLAVOR solar power bank is a well-rounded product that ticks many boxes. The charging bank is covered with a sturdy rubber shell that gives it the IPX4(Splash Proof) waterproof rating and protects the ports with a special rubber cover. The front of the charge bank has a small solar panel and a row of indicators to show whether the panel is charging and the current level of charge. The bottom of the charge bank has a decently strong flashlight that is activated by holding the power button for five seconds. The back of the charge bank has a Qi wireless charging pad for phones with QI charging enabled such as iPhone 8 or later and the Galaxy S8 or later. The size of the charge bank is slightly smaller than a fully grown banana(refer to picture above) and the bank will fit in any pocket or bag that fits a modern cellphone like the iPhone 11 or Samsung Galaxy 20. With the fundamentals being solid, the next most important aspect of the BLAVOR solar power bank is how well does it charge itself and other devices.

Power Bank Recharging Time:

Recharge Time Via Sunlight: 29 Hours(Estimated)

Recharge Time Via Cable: 10 Hours and 55 Minutes

The BLAVOR solar power bank has a fast charging rate via wireless or cable methods and an ok recharging with the small solar panel. The charge rate via traditional cables is decently fast and with the 10,000mah battery the charge bank will be able to charge your phone around 2-4 times depending on your smartphone model. The solar panel battery recharge rate is lackluster, but that is acceptable given the fact that the solar panel is meant to be supplementary to traditional recharging methods rather than a primary power source. The solar recharging takes about 3 times longer than charging the bank via cable and requires full sun at an optimal angle for the best recharge rate. The final type of charging available to the charge bank is wireless charging and it is pretty good overall. Any modern smartphone can easily balance on the charge bank and the charging rate of the wireless pad is only slightly slower than the wired charge rate. Overall, the power bank is an excellent charger, but the lackluster efficiency of the solar panel recharging leaves room for improvement.

The BLAVOR solar power bank has many pros, but still has cons that slightly hamper the experience. The first main pro is the decently fast wired and wireless charging rates for your electronic devices that is enough for most modern smartphones. The second main pro is the solid shell that protects from water(partly), dust, and shock. The third main pro is that the power bank capacity is large enough to charge most modern phones at least twice. The first main con is that the solar recharging is three times slower than wired recharging which could be improved on by upgrading the solar panel in future models. The second main con is that the “IN” port is Micro-USB which is disappointing given the widespread use of USB-C in many modern devices. The experience with the BLAVOR solar power bank is overwhelmingly positive and the purchase of this device could benefit heavy smartphone users greatly.

FINAL SCORE: 7/10

Pros:

  • Fast Charging Rate
  • Sturdy Protective Shell
  • Great For Outdoors
  • Large Battery Size
  • Qi Wireless Charging

Cons:

  • Micro-USB “IN” Port
  • Slow Solar Panel Recharge
